Equestrian WA CEO Zac Acott Announces Departure

Equestrian Western Australia (EWA) announces the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Zac Acott, effective 5th February 2025.

Zac has led EWA for the past two and a half years, guiding the organisation through a period of growth and positive change. During his tenure, he has overseen significant milestones, including the expansion of the sponsorship portfolio, enhancements to the State Equestrian Centre (SEC), and the introduction of initiatives aimed at developing equestrian clubs, grassroots, and regional participation.

Under Zac’s leadership, EWA has experienced remarkable growth, with sponsorship revenue increasing by 35%. Overall revenue has grown by 18%, enabling further investment in facility improvements and sport development programs. In addition, there have been efficiency enhancements following the successful restructuring of the EWA team. Collectively, these achievements have supported significant upgrades to the State Equestrian Centre (SEC) and ensured long-term sustainability and operational efficiency for EWA.

EWA Chairperson Anne Wilkins expressed the Board's appreciation for Zac's contributions, stating:
“The Board is disappointed to see Zac leave but we are grateful for his leadership and dedication. His efforts have strengthened our relationships with key stakeholders, resulting in increased funding, new initiatives, and greater opportunities for the sport. Zac leaves EWA in a strong position, and his legacy will continue to benefit the equestrian community in WA.”

“Zac has been instrumental in driving positive change at EWA, and his leadership has left a lasting impact. On behalf of the Board and the wider equestrian community, we thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best for the future,” said Anne.

The Board will commence recruitment for a new CEO immediately, with the process managed by Lester Blades Executive Search.
