MATCH MY SPEED | BENNY

Match My Speed, a 2012 gelding by My Atacana, began his second career in show jumping after a brief and unremarkable racing stint in 2015. Acquired by Tammy and Isla Bolton in 2022, the gelding—affectionately known as Benny—quickly proved his natural talent over fences. Despite initial nerves, Isla's coach, Pippa Barber, encouraged her to take a chance on Benny, a decision that has paid off immensely.

Benny is known for his cool, aloof demeanor, paired with a natural athleticism that shines both in the paddock and under saddle. Isla describes Benny as a true gentleman, making the transition from her smaller pony to a larger horse much smoother. After a few months of adjustment, Isla became accustomed to Benny's impressive jumping style, and together, they have become a formidable team in the show jumping arena.

In 2024, Isla and Benny achieved notable success, placing 1st in the 1.15m Junior class at the WASJA Winter Show and securing 3rd place in the same class. They also competed in the Yalambi Indoor Winter Jumping Classic and the Perth Showjumping League, where they placed 5th in the 1.10m class.

Isla and Benny are members of the Junior Equestrian Development Squad and the Jumping WA Junior Next Gen Squad and with such great achievements and motivation, the aim is to continue the winning streak and dream of competing in national events across Australia in the future.
