Two EWA Members Honoured in 2024 Australia Day Honours List

The Governor-General and Chancellor of the Order of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) recognised Ms Valrie Mayger and Dr Virginia Longley for Outstanding Contributions to Equestrian Sports and Medicine in the 2024 Australia Day Honours List.

In a momentous celebration of outstanding service and achievement, two distinguished members of Equestrian Western Australia (EWA) have been bestowed with the prestigious Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2024 Australia Day Honours List, with 86 recipients hailing from Western Australia.

Ms Valrie Mayger, recognised for her unwavering dedication to equestrian sports, and Dr Virginia Longley, acknowledged for her exceptional service to medicine as a General Practitioner, have brought pride and Honor to the EWA community.

His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia will formally invest Western Australian recipients with the insignia of their appointments and awards at an Investiture Ceremony in September.
