Facilities Coordinator - Part Time Position

Equestrian Western Australia (EWA) is the State Sporting Organisation responsible for the development, promotion and governance of equestrian sport throughout Western Australia. EWA supports the Olympic Disciplines of Dressage, Eventing and Jumping, and the disciplines of Show Horse and Vaulting. EWA's mission is to lead, manage and develop the sport of equestrian.

How you will assist us in growing our sport
Based at the State Equestrian Centre, the Facilities Coordinator position is a part-time role which is varied and diverse.

The position shall be responsible for the efficient coordination, management and maintenance of the SEC facility, grounds, and arenas to the highest possible standard at all times. This includes facility bookings, day-to-day grounds, maintenance, and other EWA operational requirements. This position will work closely with the Booking and Events Officer to ensure EWA events are completed to meet member, client, and event organiser requirements.

Your key responsibilies will include:

  • Point of contact for members for all SEC private hire facility booking queries, requests, and complaints.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the SEC facilities, grounds, and arenas to the highest possible standard at all times.
  • In consultation with the Grounds staff, book and coordinate third party contractors for minor SEC internal planned and unplanned maintenance requirements (e.g. tagging, minor repairs, etc.)
  • Manage and maintain the SEC’s inventory of equipment, record SEC vehicles and licenses, and coordinate the replacement of assets (where applicable)
  • Ongoing renewal and implementation of WHS, manuals, emergency evacuation, hazard register and risk management plans
  • Oversee the completions of SEC facility, equipment, and grounds repairs as required.
  • Liaise with the CEO and SEC grounds staff to ensure facility and grounds are appropriately managed and maintained for use.

What we're looking for
Candidates applying for this role must have the following:

  • Previous experience coordinating and/or completing facility bookings.
  • Strong organisational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a collaborative team member.
  • Ability to plan and adapt to changing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A current driver’s license
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance

Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:

  • Previous experience working within a sporting industry and/or facility management
  • Experience working with booking software package.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g. grading, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Equestrian Sports

Stablehand Groundperson - Part Time Position

EWA supports the Olympic Disciplines of Dressage, Eventing and Jumping, and the disciplines of Show Horse and Vaulting. EWA's mission is to lead, manage and develop the sport of equestrian.

As Stablehand Groundperson, you will be responsible for supporting the Facilities Coordinator by ensuring that the Equestrian WA facilities (State Equestrian Centre), especially the stable block and wash bays, and arenas are maintained to the required standards for events and other operational requirements.

What we’re looking for...
Your day to day role will require Facility Management and Maintenance:

  • Clean stables, and common areas regularly, ensuring a sanitary and safe environment.
  • Routinely collect and dispose of waste as and when required (e.g. bins, equine waste, etc
  • Ensure that the EWA facilities (e.g. SEC), grounds (e.g. arenas), and equipment (e.g. vehicles,, etc.) are kept to the required safety and operating standards.
  • Work closely with the Facilities Coordinator to ensure that the relevant facilities and/or grounds are prepared in accordance with EWA, competition, and event organiser requirements.
  • Ensure that EWA property and equipment is stored safely and securely at the end of each day or after use.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly duties in accordance with the SEC Schedule of Works.
  • Provide any additional assistance and support to the Facilities Coordinator.
  • Report any safety incidents, issues and/or potential hazards to the Facilities Coordinator.
