EWA supports EQ’s motion to formally recognise ENT as a Participating Member under the EA Constitution.

Equestrian Western Australia (EWA) acknowledges and supports Equestrian Queensland's (EQ) motion to formally recognise Equestrian Northern Territory (ENT) as a Participating Member under the Equestrian Australia (EA) Constitution.

EWA believes that recognition of ENT as a participating member and a State Branch of EA is essential to creating an inclusive and representative governance structure that respects the voices of all EA members. Each state and territory should have an equal opportunity to contribute to decision-making processes to be considered a true national organisation. Formally recognising ENT as a Participating Member will ensure that the interests of Northern Territory equestrians are represented fairly at a national level. EWA believes that every branch, regardless of size, should have a seat at the table so that every member’s voice is acknowledged.

Allowing ENT full participation rights will enable us all to support the development of equestrian sports nationally, while strengthening national unity by fostering a collaborative environment with all states and territories. Extending voting rights to ENT alongside other state branches aligns with the commitment made during EA’s 2020 voluntary administration to establish a "One Member, One Vote" model. Although this principle was promised, ENT members have yet to gain the right to participate fully in EA’s governance processes, despite paying the same EA fees and levies as all other members across the country. Fulfilling this commitment will ensure that ENT members share the same rights as all EA members.

EWA firmly supports EQ’s motion and encourages EWA members to vote in favour of recognising ENT as a Participating Member and officially classify it as a state branch of EA. This change offers an opportunity to reinforce a governance model based on inclusivity, equal representation, and national unity—principles we believe essential to the future and success of equestrian sports across Australia.

We urge all eligible members to recognise the importance of equal representation and to support EQ’s motion.
