Upcoming Equestrian Australia ("EA") Board of Directors Election: Why Your Vote Matters

As we approach the upcoming EA Board of Directors election, it is an important time for the WA equestrian community to engage with the process. Voting for the two vacant Elected Director positions will commence at 9am (AEDT) this Friday, 18th October 2024, and members have until 5pm (AEDT) Sunday, 3rd November 2024 to cast their vote.

Voting will take place via Vero Voting, and all members should have received an email from EA with the instructions on how to vote. If you have not received your email, please contact EA to ensure you can participate in the election.

Knowing Your Candidates
The candidates will each be advocating for different priorities, so we encourage all members to connect with these candidates to learn more about their visions and goals. Understanding how each candidate’s priorities align with WA’s interests will help you make an informed decision. Your vote isn’t just a choice – it’s your opportunity to shape the future of equestrian sports in WA.

Why This Election Matters for WA
With the proposed structural changes by EA on the horizon which includes a proposal to move to a discipline model with one national board making decisions for each of the States, it is critical that WA has a voice in these discussions as these changes proposed by EA will, if implemented, have a direct impact on how equestrian sports and the State Equestrian Centre are managed in WA.

Why is it Important for WA to Have a Seat at the Table?

  • Representation of WA’s diverse needs: Ensure that decisions made by the EA Board reflect the unique challenges and priorities of WA’s members.
  • Advocating for shared services: Influence how a shared services model can be implemented to support local initiatives and safeguard WA’s resources.
  • Guiding EA’s governance changes: Help shape the national governance structure to ensure it benefits WA’s equestrian community.
  • Strengthening WA’s position in equestrian sports: Maintain our state’s strong role in shaping the future of equestrian sports.

Your Vote is Your Voice
By participating in this election, you are helping to ensure that WA’s voice is heard within EA. Don’t miss your chance to make a difference and safeguard WA’s future in this exciting and critical time for our sport.

Make sure you vote by 3rd November to support strong representation for WA!
