Celebrating Kerrie Robbins: A Lifetime of Equestrian Dedication

At the recent Equestrian WA Annual General Meeting on June 7th, 2024, Kerrie Robbins was honoured with a Life Membership, recognising her decades-long commitment to the equestrian community. Kerrie's journey began in Harvey, where her father instilled in her a love for horses and riding. From her early days at the town's first pony club, Kerrie excelled in Eventing and Showjumping, known for her skill in handling even the most challenging horses.

Transitioning from rider to official, Kerrie pursued and obtained numerous qualifications, including Eventing Technical Delegate National Level 4 and Jumping Judge National Level 3. Her leadership extended to various roles within equestrian clubs and events, notably serving as Treasurer for the WA Showjumping Association and chairing the Perth Horse Trials Committee for over 40 years.

Kerrie's impact wasn't limited to local endeavours; she also left her mark on the international stage, volunteering at prestigious events like the Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and serving as a Technical Delegate at the Asian Games in Indonesia. Her contributions spanned over 20,000 hours, including projects like the rebuilding of the Brigadoon Cross Country Course and the establishment of the Eventing Levy, which has injected over $1 million back into the sport.

Kerrie Robbins exemplifies the selflessness and dedication synonymous with the equestrian community. Her journey—from a young rider in Harvey to a revered figure in the global equestrian arena—is a testament to her passion and unwavering commitment. As Equestrian WA bestows upon her the prestigious honour of Life Membership, we celebrate Kerrie's remarkable achievements and express our gratitude for her invaluable contributions to the sport.
